Did you ever write something on your hand? Something you wanted to be sure not to forget?
a name...a phone number...your locker combination...?
If you write something on a piece of paper you might lose it...but if it is written on your hand...

When Israel was in captivity in Babylon they thought all was lost, they had nowhere to turn, even God had forgotten them. Then, God tells them in Isaiah 49:16 (NIV) "I have engraved you on the palms of my hands" one of the newer translations (NLT) says "I have written your name on my hand"
