About this site

Music is an important part of Christian worship. As music leaders we select and prepare songs for worship every week. For each song we should be prepared to answer the question "Why is it included in Worship?" What does this song have to teach us? How is it related to a Biblical truth or concept?

The Warrior is a Child

The Warrior is a Child
By Twila Paris

Twila Paris wrote this song after being counseled by one of the elders in her home church about the stresses of her growing fame. She told and interviewer, "He used the metaphor of the army, God's army. No matter if we're a general in the army and have been serving God for years, ... before Him, we're still a child. Initially Twila considered that this song would be just for her but her producer persuaded he to include it on one of her albums.
