About this site

Music is an important part of Christian worship. As music leaders we select and prepare songs for worship every week. For each song we should be prepared to answer the question "Why is it included in Worship?" What does this song have to teach us? How is it related to a Biblical truth or concept?

He Keeps Me Singing

He Keeps Me Singing
by Luther Bridges

I have always though of this as a song with a happy-go-lucky attitude.  It's origin is anything but...
While Luther Bridges, a Methodist Preacher, was out of state preaching  he received a phone call telling him a house fire had take the lives of his wife and three sons. It was durring this tearful moment he penned the words;

There's within my heart a melody
Jesus whispers sweet and low,
Fear not, I am with thee, peace,
be still, In all of lifes ebb and flow

2 Corinthians 1:4 tells us that God "comforts us in all our troubles"

Choir Arrangement "Melody of Love Medley" includes "He Keeps Me Singing"
