About this site

Music is an important part of Christian worship. As music leaders we select and prepare songs for worship every week. For each song we should be prepared to answer the question "Why is it included in Worship?" What does this song have to teach us? How is it related to a Biblical truth or concept?

Blessed Be the Name

Nehemiah 9 contains one of the great prayers of the Old Testament. Israel gathered as a nation to confess their sins. How do they begin this great prayer of confession? Not with a list of their sins. They begin by acknowledging who they are confessing their sins too. So, this great prayer begins with seven priests on the steps of the temple leading prayer with these words... Nehemiah 9:5 NIV..."Stand up and praise the LORD your God, who is from everlasting to everlasting. " "Blessed be your glorious name, and may it be exalted above all blessing and praise.
