About this site

Music is an important part of Christian worship. As music leaders we select and prepare songs for worship every week. For each song we should be prepared to answer the question "Why is it included in Worship?" What does this song have to teach us? How is it related to a Biblical truth or concept?

God's Been Good
by Sue C. Smith and Belinda Smith
arranged by Dave Williamson

Psalm 73 starts with .."1 Surely God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart." and ends with ... "28 But as for me, it is good to be near God..." But, in between we hear someone who is struggling with the injustice he sees in the world. He sees corrupt, wicked people enjoying wealth and good health. While he and other faithful followers of God struggle through life. He is even tempted to join "the crowd". Then he goes to church...

Psalm 73:
16 When I tried to understand all this, it was oppressive to me 17 till I entered the sanctuary of God; then I understood ...

At church he comes to realize that all the wonderful things that people have, that he envies, are all temporary while the relationship he has with God is eternal. God, the God that gave him the strength to resist following the crowd, is good after all and does have his best interest at heart.

And so as we often say... God is good. All the time. All the time. God is good.
