About this site

Music is an important part of Christian worship. As music leaders we select and prepare songs for worship every week. For each song we should be prepared to answer the question "Why is it included in Worship?" What does this song have to teach us? How is it related to a Biblical truth or concept?

Devotion Medley

Devotion Medley from Ready to Sing, Volume 1 - Platinum Edition

James, the brother of Jesus, wrote to the believers in Jerusalem,
"Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you..." (James 4:8).
Drawing near to God can mean spending time with Him, worshiping Him,
praying and talking to Him, even caring for people, made in His image,
who are in need, "...when you did it to one of the least of these my
brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!' some of us got to
experience that a little last week when our church spent the day
working in the community. One thing we often do when we want to get
to know someone, to get closer to them, is share a meal with them.
This is why salesmen often offer to buy customers lunch. Last night
I was at my nieces wedding. After a wedding what do you do? You get
both sides of the family together for a meal. to get to know each
other, even the weird uncle (which last night I guess was me). In a
few moments we will have a chance to, with Christians all across the
world, to draw close and share a meal with God. "Draw near to God, and
He will draw near to you..."
